One Planet Living Impact Highlights

Culture and CommunityFor Stone Abbey, Windmill partnered with the United Church to purchase the land. This enabled the Church to remain open and operational and allowed the congregation to renovate their existing space with an eye on future use. The design and construction of the development seamlessly blends the old and the new, preserving the heritage of the existing church structure while breathing new, modern life into the neighbourhood.

Zero Carbon EnergyAs Stone Abbey is targeting LEED Platinum, the development will have to be highly energy-efficient. Features that will help achieve this include a high-performance building envelope, geothermal heating and cooling, and EV charging stations.

Sustainable MaterialsA LEED Platinum target means that the design, construction and materials must meet the highest green standards. These include a focus on healthy, sustainably-harvested, low emissions finishes.
